Elements Sport wants people with different abilities, access needs, devices and ways of processing information to be able to use this website. Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility, not a once-off checklist.
1. Our accessibility target
The website is designed and tested toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. This is a target rather than an unqualified claim that every page, device and assistive-technology combination is fully conformant. WCAG addresses perceivable, operable, understandable and robust web content, but no standard can cover every individual need.
2. Measures we take
Accessibility is considered in design, content, development and publishing. Current measures include:
- semantic page structure, descriptive page titles, headings and landmarks;
- a skip link, keyboard-operable navigation and visible keyboard focus;
- labelled form controls, useful instructions, clear errors and live status messages;
- responsive layouts, readable mobile type, text reflow and support for browser zoom;
- colour contrast that is checked rather than relying on colour alone;
- plain, parent-friendly language, predictable navigation and comfortable line lengths;
- no autoplay or flashing content, restrained animation and reduced-motion support;
- text alternatives for meaningful images and decorative treatment for non-informative graphics; and
- publishing controls intended to prevent unreviewed content or unapproved identifiable child media from going live.
Technology and testing
The site uses standards-based HTML, CSS and JavaScript and is intended to work with current browsers, keyboard navigation, zoom and common assistive technologies. Automated accessibility scans, responsive checks and keyboard interaction tests are part of the release process. Automated tools cannot identify every barrier, so human review and testing with disabled users and assistive technologies remain important.
3. Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some barriers may remain. In particular:
- new content added through the CMS may need manual checks for heading order, link purpose, plain language and image descriptions;
- third-party services, documents or websites may not meet the same standard and may be outside our control;
- future video or audio will require appropriate captions, transcripts or alternatives before publication; and
- full testing across every browser, device and assistive technology is not practical.
We prioritise issues that block access to information, navigation, forms or registration.
4. Feedback, assistance and alternative formats
If you cannot access something, email hello@elementssport.co.za. Please include the page or feature, what happened, the device or assistive technology if you are comfortable sharing it, and the format or help you need. You do not need to disclose a disability.
We will acknowledge the request, investigate it and aim to provide the information or a reasonable accessible alternative as soon as practical. Complex fixes may take longer, but we will explain the next step. If the first response does not resolve the issue, ask for the matter to be escalated to the website owner.
5. Assessment and review
This statement was prepared on 15 August 2026 following automated WCAG-oriented testing, keyboard checks and responsive review of the public page templates. A specialist manual audit and user testing are recommended before production launch and after material design or platform changes.
We review this statement when significant content or functionality changes and use accessibility feedback to improve the site.
For the technical standard behind this commitment, see the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2.
